Vessels of Memory

A set of large open bronze vessels, each shaped after a specific darkroom tool from Hooman's childhood (the developer tray, the stop bath, the fixer, the wash) scaled up and rendered permanent in bronze. Where the originals held liquid chemicals that made an image appear and then last, these vessels hold nothing but light and shadow, and are themselves the thing meant to last.

This series is the clearest bridge between Hooman's two mediums: sculpture built directly from the vocabulary of photography.
