The Weight We Carry
Cast bronze, figurative torsos
- 2019
- Series of 6 torsos, life-size
A figurative series of bronze torsos, each cast mid-labor, leaning into a load, absorbing weight through the shoulders and spine. Drawn from Hooman's years of watching construction crews carry, hoist, and brace materials far heavier than themselves, these figures have no arms or faces by design: the focus is entirely on what the body does under weight, not who is doing it.
Full torso, front view, lit to emphasize the strain in the shoulders
